In today's Monitor there is an article that highlights the shafting that the Hidalgo County Sheriff's Dept. received from its peers at the Texas Border Sheriff's Coalition. Of the $8 Million plus slated to be distributed, Hidalgo County got the sum of $0 (zero). While neighboring counties received substantial monies, Cameron ($1,000,000) and Starr ($802,733).

I have NO idea what the politics behind this is. Anyway you slice it there is NO justification for not giving Hidalgo any money. This county is one of the largest entry points into this country.

I suggest legal action be taken, or let's just release all the illegals we catch into the neighboring counties, or better yet, let's not arrest them at all. So much for border security. Give 'em hell Lupe, I'm behind you!
